Harvest Report: Pinot's Flowering in Carneros

Peter Brehm, who sells premium frozen grapes through Brehm Vineyards, sent out an email today with an update on the Harvest 2002.

He says, "In the Carneros, the Pinot Noir grapes are flowering at 50%. Early estimates are that Harvest will be a week or two behind last year. Weather in the Northwest has been cooler than normal."

Considering last year's harvest was so early, hopefully the grapes will get longer hang time improving the flavor of the wine.

Also, looks like we are in the middle of mild heat wave. It was 90 in the city yesterday. This weather should continue for the next couple of days. Amazing that a few weeks ago it hailed in Napa.
