Bottling the 2001, and 2002 Grapes Around the Corner
So the harvest is ramping up incredibly quickly...
- Last night, Kiara and I bottled 13 cases of my home Zinfandel wine.
- Today, 112 cases of bottles will be delivered from Encore in Benecia to the winery. Tom is doing a huge favor of unloading them with the forklift. He's also going to Compleat Winemaker to buy my Rapid corker.
- Tomorrow morning, a group of friends will help me bottle my first commericial wines: 2001 Eno: Zinfandel- Teldeschi and 2001 Eno: Zinfandel- Damas at the winery. I am expecting approximately around 1,400 bottles or 117 cases.
- Sunday, I will clean out all my home winemaking supplies from 781.
- Next week, we will be inundated with 12 tons of grapes
I'm playing phone tag with Ray about when my 2002 Zinfandel will be picked. Temperatures are stabilizing so hopefully we can get some extra hang time. I'm not concerned with high sugars-- his vineyard can handle it and I want the acid numbers to be spot on.
