First Annual Ballard Canyon Connection report

Kiara and I celebrated our 4th anniversary with a trip to Santa Barbara wine country. We attended the First Annual Ballard Canyon Event. Starting around 10:30 am, we met in Los Olivos and jumped into vans. We visited four vineyards Tierra Alta, Purisima, Stolpman and Larner. Each vineyard tour was hosted by the respective vineyard manager: John Belfry of Buona Terra Farming, Jeff Newton of Coastal Vineyard Care Associates, Steve Beckmen, and Michael Larner. The tours were followed by lunch and tasting of wines made from those vineyards.

Visiting Fairview Road Ranch

Even though I talk to my grape growers every couple of weeks, nothing beats going to visit them and walk the vineyard. On our way down to Santa Barbara for our anniversary weekend, Kiara and I visited Kirk Williams at Fairview Road Ranch in Santa Lucia Highlands.
