Tasting Notes
Nestled in between two of the best vineyards in the Santa Lucia—Garys' and Rosella's—Fairview Road Ranch has about 8 acres of Pinot and 6 acres of Syrah. Kirk Williams is known in the Central Coast for lemons. But with some friendly help of his neighbor Gary Franscioni, he is quickly becoming known for his grapes. This bottling is from the first harvest with equal parts Pommard 4 and 667.

The flavor profile provides cranberry, pomegranate, orange rind with hints of nutmeg and spice. For those similar with the region, this is on softer, more elegant, and citrus side.

Reviews
"Medium garnet in color, this wine has a surprisingly floral nose with aromas of tart plum and raspberry. In the mouth it has a nice mouthfeel with primary flavors of tart raspberry and hints of dried herbs. The wine doesn't come together quite as well as the nose promises (no pun intended). Score: 9" (out of 10) Alder Yarrow, Vinography.com
The Story Behind the Wine
This was the first harvest from Fairview Road Ranch. For its' third leaf and first harvest, the wine showcases the potential of the vineyard. It wasn't until the 2004 harvest which has already received praise that we knew the amazing potential. So we called the first wine... The Great Promise.
Production: 85 cases.
