With 10% Syrah added, this wine is deep in color, texture, and mouthfeel yet still remains true to the classic Grenache varietal flavors of strawberry and cherry. The finish is smooth and the tannins are graceful. To preserve the fruit and aromatics, the wine was aged in 100% neutral French oak. Drink over the next 3-5 years. Our finest Grenache yet...

    Production Notes

On October 3, 2005, a little under a ton of Grenache was picked at day break. We shared a truck with fellow East Bay Vintner Alliance member Steve Edmunds of Edmunds St. John, who got Grenache and Syrah. The fruit was destemmed but not crushed, chilled with dry ice, and cold soaked for 5 days in T-bins. Lallemand's Grenache yeast was used to capture the true varietal characteristics. Fermentation lasted 5 days. The wine was pressed straight into 100% neutral French oak.

This wine is unfiltered and unfined; natural sediment is expected and natural.

    Production: 55 cases

  • The Vineyard

For over 20 years, Eaglepoint Ranch has sourced some of the best grapes in Mendocino to premier producers (Rosenblum, Copain, Sean Thackery, and Edmunds St. John to name a few). After falling in love with Grenache, the legendary grower, Casey Hartlip, agreed to sell Eno some of his prized fruit in 2004. Our inaugural release was affectionately called "The Wild One".
